Yanshu Shi Bio

Yanshu Shi is a fourth year Ph.D. student of Dr. Banglin Chen's group from Chemistry Department of UTSA. He got his Bachelor of Science degree from Zhengzhou University (China) in 2014 and his Master of Science degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2018. His research interests are about design and discovery of porous crystalline materials (like metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) or Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs)) for energy-related and biomedical applications. Specifically, utilization of ultramicroporous materials for industrially important gas separations such as CO2 removal, olefin/paraffin (C2 and C3) separation, and carbon dioxide removal. Meanwhile, Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) for stimuli-responsive drug/gene delivery, bio-imaging and sensing applications.
