Shuang Chen Bio

Shuang Chen is a senior principal research scientist at AbbVie. He received his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the University of British Columbia, Canada. Before joining AbbVie’s Process Research & Development team in 2006, he was a postdoc researcher in the School of Pharmacy of the University of Wisconsin at Madison where he focused his research on the polymorphism and crystallization of organic crystals. At AbbVie, his job responsibilities and experience include assessment of developability of candidate drug molecules, discovery and selection of API solid forms for pharmaceutical development, development of drug substance process for scale up and commercialization, and characterization and improvement of API physical properties for drug product development.
