Nathalie Katsonis
Nathalie Katsonis is Professor of Active Molecular Systems and Materials at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. After earning her PhD in Paris, she trained with Nobel laureate Ben Feringa and held a full professorship at the University of Twente before returning to Groningen in 2020. Her research uses light and chirality to turn molecular motion into mechanical work at larger length scales. Her honors include the 2026 Alexander M. Cruickshank Lecturer Award of the Gordon Research Conferences, the 2025 Ammodo Science Award, the 2024 Sauvage–Stoddart–Feringa Senior Prize for Molecular Machines, and the Gold Medal of the Royal Netherlands Chemical Society.
