Dr. Romain Perriot Bio

Romain Perriot is a staff scientist in the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He earned a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Tours (France) in 2006 and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of South Florida in 2012.

His research uses atomistic methods to understand and predict the behavior of materials under extreme conditions, including shock and detonation in energetic materials, defect dynamics under irradiation, and mass and thermal transport relevant to mesoscale modeling. His work also emphasizes method and model development, in close collaboration with experimentalists to validate predictions and provide physics-based interpretation of experimental results.
